A message from the AOS WA President

For our members and visitors, welcome to the WA branch home page of the AOS.

Our society is a close knit community of practitioners and auxillaries involved in the practice of implant dentistry. The society will give the entire dental team an environment of shared learning through knowledge and experience. The WA branch has coined the caption “AOS WA - integrating the entire dental team in the practice of implant dentistry through continued support and education"

Our membership year runs concurrently with the financial year. We normally begin our membership year with an AGM dinner meeting in the beginning of July. Throughout the year, our local branch aims to provide scientifically based and clinically relevant lectures from which practitioners can utilise in their day to day practice in a safe and predictable manner. Except with our AGM dinner meeting, most of our meetings will be sponsored by implant companies, and we also thankful for their continuing support.

From these meeting, we are hopeful that both members and non-members are able to learn the relevant information based on scientific data, and experieces drawn from our esteemed speaker, to be able to apply this knowledge in their clinical practice. Our society also aims to support members in providing advice, and encourage members to practice implant dentistry responsibly in order to provide the best clincial outcome possible for our patients. Our members will also benefit from reduce fees for our meetings, and reduced conference rate when attending our bienninal conferences.

Our state will be the host of the next bienninal federal conference, which will be held towards the end of October 2013. It will showcase the best of implant dentistry has to offer, both from sound clinical research data as well as the latest technology from world-renowned speakers. So I encourage you to support the society especially in this next a couple of years as we build momentum towards 2013.

Lastly, we are always open to suggestion and aim to serve our members with optimum satisfaction. Your executives’ correspondence detail is available in this homepage. We look forward to serve you in the next two years.

Roy Sarmidi
