A message from the president
Welcome to all members and guests to the Australasian Osseointegration Society website.
Implant dentistry has grown rapidly in popularity and is now in the general realm of all private practices. Osseointegration has also developed exponentially since the term was coined in the 60’s and has evolved from a functional rehabilitation to a functional and cosmetic solution for our patients.
The AOS encourages membership from all disciplines in dentistry including auxiliary staff and dental technicians. Our focus is to provide the dental professional with the most current scientific evidence and or accepted treatment regimes for the benefit of mankind. The society also aims to promote research and education in Australasia.
The AOS has local branches in Western Australia, South Australia , New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. The respective branches hold regular meetings and the Federal AOS conferences are held biennially.
Western Australia will play host to the next Biennial conference to be held in 2013, October 23-25th. The theme of the 9th Biennial conference is Treatment Tissue Technology. This will provide for some very informative series of lectures tackling current controversies, technological advancements, and an interactive session with a panel of experts derived from all over the world. Further, the biennial conference also serves to provide concurrent sessions for auxiliary staff and dental technicians offering an avenue for education from world class authorities.
On behalf of the Australasian Osseointegration Society, I thank you for visiting our website and encourage membership in a dynamic and friendly society.
AOS Federal President
Dr Tony Strangio
