Dr Neil McGregor - “A 10 year retrospective analysis of implants in General practice: what can we learn.”
Lecture synopsis: Data from a study of the 10 year complication/failure rates for dental implants in a suburban general practice will be presented. Data assessment will include: implant type, position, prosthetic structure, abutment fit, fixation, complications, loss, periodontal charting and medical histories. Factor influencing early and late loss will be discussed. In general Implant complications and failure rates were higher than in comparable specialist and university clinic studies. Plaque accumulating prosthetic design issues were an important factor in increased bone loss and implant failure.

Dr Stephen Chen Periodontist - Teeth and Implants: Commodities in Dentistry?
During this lecture each AOS member will be given the opportunity of inviting one dentist who is not a current AOS member free of charge.
Dear Members
The AOS VB Committee has decided to manage membership in line with the Federal body and all other States. This means that payment of membership fees will be based on the financial year rather than the calendar year as has been the practice to date.
Consequently, the next AOS VB membership fee installment will be paid in May/June 2015 for 2015/16 financial year.
The meeting scheduled for the first half of 2015 will be free of charge for AOS VB members and will be covered by AOS VB funds.
